Advance training, education, and recruitment of personnel in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Serve as a parent support and advocacy organization.

Promote the general welfare of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.

Further research on all aspects of intellectual and developmental disabilities, including causes, prevention, medical and social treatment, and methods of special education and training.

Enhance public understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities and to collaborate with all public, private, and religious agencies, including international, federal, state, and local departments of mental health, rehabilitation, as well as educational and health institutions.

Encourage the formation of local units, advise and assist them in solving their problems, and coordinate their efforts and activities.

Advocate for and support the implementation of legislation benefiting individuals with disabilities.

Solicit and receive funds to achieve these objectives.

Serve as a clearinghouse for gathering and disseminating information about individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to promote the development of integrated programs on their behalf.

Support and advance the objectives of The Arc of Mississippi and The Arc of the United States.
