Dear Friends and Supporters,
Our capital campaign has been a success so far! As of today, we have raised $172,000.00 towards the purchase of a new space that would hold the majority of our programs, classes, and events. We are truly thankful to everyone who has donated. Your belief in our mission and support for our work is greatly appreciated.
I wanted to give a brief history of our pathway through the capital campaign. Last year we purchased a lot on Getwell Road with the intention to build a building. We began the process to develop the blueprints when we noticed Magnolia Baptist Church on Pleasant Hill Road was for sale. The space was ideal for our mission, and we promptly sold our lot and pursued purchasing the property. Unfortunately, as we were days before closing, we learned that the title of our prospective new home was not clear. Currently there are two parties disputing the ownership of the property in court, and we are once again searching for another space.
Although we are disappointed that we have not yet found our new home, we are hopeful that we will find the perfect spot. The Arc Northwest Mississippi will have our Tree of Achievement when we find our new home, so please keep donating and helping us raise funds. If you know of a space that we should consider, please let us know. Once again, thank you for believing in our mission and supporting our work on behalf of people that we love.
With Much Gratitude,
Rebecca Treadway
Executive Director, The Arc NWMS
