What is Camp BOLD?
Camp BOLD is for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from age 3 to 103.
Our campers are people with Autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disability, Fragile X syndrome, Angelman's syndrome, ADHD, and seizure disorder.
The Arc Northwest Mississippi sees Camp BOLD counselors, who are from age 12 to adult, as part of our mission and our target population.
We are committed to spreading advocacy through education in our community.
New to Camp BOLD?
Welcome! Whether you participate in all of the Arc's programs or are new to us, we are happy to have you. The Arc of NW MS is committed to making fun and accessible activities for our community members with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We have an insiders knowledge to the unique needs required in this endeavor.
We are committed to providing a safe environment, first and foremost. Each parent or caregiver is asked to provide detailed information on their loved ones needs. Taking each persons ability level into consideration, appropriate supervision and assistance is provided.
Each camper is paired with a counselor. Counselors consist of peers and adult volunteers. Additionally, there are helper assistants and trained professionals available, so that there is an abundance of supervision. We adhere to strict safety protocols to guarantee a worry-free experience for both campers and parents.
The activities are adjusted to take a variety of ability levels into account. Our intention is for everyone to have an enjoyable time based on their own (potentially quirky) definition of fun.
